Puzzle Panels Privacy Policy
Puzzle Panels is a collection of logic puzzles for iPhone and Android. Every puzzle is generated on your device and plays offline. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. It covers the app; for visits to this website, see Website analytics below.
No accounts, no sign-up
Puzzle Panels does not ask you to create an account, sign in, or sign up, and we do not collect emails, passwords, names, or any other information that identifies you personally. We do not run a server for the app, and it has no chat, no user-generated content, and no analytics or crash reporting of our own. The app does not ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos.
The only information that leaves your device is handled by three outside services the app includes: app updates, advertising, and purchases. We describe each one below, along with what it receives.
Information stored on your device
Puzzle Panels keeps your game progress, settings, and stats on your device, and nowhere else. We never receive them.
Your device's operating system may include this app data in your device backup: Android Auto Backup to Google Drive, or iCloud backup on iOS. Those backups are made and stored by Google or Apple under their own terms and privacy policies, and we have no access to them.
App updates
When the app starts, it can check Expo's EAS Update service for an updated version of its code. The request carries technical information such as your platform (iOS or Android), the app and runtime version, and a random identifier that the update library generates for your installation. Like any network request, it also exposes your IP address to the service. Expo uses this to deliver the right update to the right version of the app, and it acts as our service provider. The identifier is not your advertising ID, and it is not linked to anything about you. See Expo's Privacy Policy.
Advertising
Between puzzles, Puzzle Panels occasionally shows a full-screen (interstitial) advertisement served by Google through its AdMob service.
To deliver and measure these ads, Google collects information from your device directly through the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the app. That can include your advertising ID (the IDFA on iOS, where permitted), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, how you interact with ads, and diagnostic data. Google uses this to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance, and prevent fraud, and, where you have consented, to personalize the ads you see. This is a real sharing of information with a third party: Google receives it from the ad SDK running inside the app, independently of us. We do not receive, see, or store any of it.
You have choices here. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app shows a consent message from Google's User Messaging Platform before ads are requested, and your answer there is respected. On iOS, the app also requests App Tracking Transparency permission; declining it does not remove ads, but it stops the app from accessing your IDFA. On both platforms, your device's system settings let you reset or delete your advertising identifier and opt out of personalized ads at any time.
For more on what Google collects and how it is used, see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Purchases
Puzzle Panels offers one optional, one-time in-app purchase, No Ads, which removes the advertisements. It is bought through the App Store or Google Play, which process the payment; we never see your payment details. The app also remembers on your device that you own it, so ads stay off without a connection. Once you own No Ads, later launches no longer show ads, ask for iOS tracking permission, or start Google's ad service. The purchase is also covered by the terms of use.
To confirm the purchase and restore it on a new device, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, the store's purchase and transaction receipts, product information, and device and app version information, and, like any network request, your IP address. It uses this only to validate the purchase and tell the app what you own, and it acts as our service provider. The anonymous ID is created by RevenueCat's software on your device. We do not link it to your name, and RevenueCat keeps it with the store's receipt for your purchase, which is how the purchase can be restored. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its own terms.
Website analytics
The Puzzle Panels pages on our website use Google Analytics. A banner asks you to accept or decline analytics cookies. If you accept, Google sets cookies in your browser and receives your IP address, browser and device details, and which pages you view. We use this to see how many people visit. The app itself does not use Google Analytics. See our studio privacy policy for details and how to opt out, or use Cookie settings in the footer.
Your choices and rights
We hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing for us to look up, correct, or delete on our side. You still have control:
- Delete the data on your device. Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in your device settings. This removes your progress, settings, and stats from the device. A copy may remain in a device backup until you delete that backup in your Google or Apple account.
- Opt out of personalized ads. Decline the consent message or the iOS tracking prompt, turn off ad personalization in your device's Google settings on Android (usually under Ads) or Tracking in iOS Privacy & Security settings, and reset or delete your advertising ID there at any time.
- Ask the services directly. Google, Expo, and RevenueCat each hold the data described above under their own policies, and you can exercise your access, deletion, and other privacy rights with them using the contact details in the policies linked in this page.
If the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, or a similar US state law applies to you, you have rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. We do not sell personal information. Google's use of advertising identifiers to personalize ads may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California and some other state laws; you can opt out using the steps above. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Where the GDPR applies, the basis for ad-related processing is your consent, and the basis for app updates is our legitimate interest in delivering the app to you in working order. Purchase processing is necessary to provide what you bought.
Data retention
We keep no data about you. Your progress, settings, and stats stay on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its storage. Google, Expo, and RevenueCat keep the information they receive for the periods set out in their own policies.
Security
Because Puzzle Panels keeps your data on your device, it is protected by your device's own security, such as its screen lock and encryption. The services described above use encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
Google, Expo, and RevenueCat may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Those transfers are handled under the providers' own safeguards, which their policies describe.
Children's privacy
Puzzle Panels is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and where required we configure the ads the app shows as non-personalized. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, or you would like it removed, email us at the address below and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
